8VAC20-780 Staffing and Supervision.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced inspection was initiated on 11-14-2024 and completed on 11-25-2024 in response to a complaint received by the licensing office on 11-7-2024 relating to allegations of Staffing and Supervision. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews and observations.

The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 12-4-2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

The required ratio for children ages 2 years old is 1 staff per 8 children. Staff #1 was observed supervising 10 children from approximately 7:50am until 8:15am.
Plan of Correction: Due to multiple staff call outs and staff previously scheduled time off we were extremely short staffed. Both members of management were in classrooms. We have put out additional employment reqs. to build our sub list and will continue to monitor classroom ratios while encouraging staff to utilize the walkie talkie to inform us when over ratio.
