Inspector Notes

The Licensing Inspector initiated and completed a monitoring inspection on 10/25/2022. The inspector was on site from 10:00am until 1:00pm.

There were seventy-one children under the care of fourteen staff. The ages of the children ranged from three months to five years old. The children were observed during outside time and free play time. Seven children?s record and five staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence: Playground #1, on the door of the metal gate surrounding the playground, the door as come unattached at the hinge. This creates a gap in the gate causing an entrapment hazard to children. Children were observed playing on the playground during the inspection.

Playground #2: The sandbox on the playground has mesh lining that is coming through the surface of the sandbox causing a tripping hazard to children.
Plan of Correction: Playground #1 The gate has been ordered and will be installed as soon as it comes in. 11-18
