Inspector Notes

An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated on 04/19/2024 at 11:00 a.m. and was concluded on 04/26/2024 at 12:20 p.m. The complaint was received on 04/17/2024 regarding staff qualification and training, staffing and supervision. Two staff members were interviewed and one classroom was observed.

Information gathered during the inspection supports at least one of the allegations and the complaint was determined to be valid. Violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Repeat Violation
The center failed to ensure that behavior guidance is constructive in nature and age and stage appropriate. 1. On 04/19/2024, Staff #1, who was in the Preschool 2 classroom, yelled ?Hey, you don?t throw food!?, ?Get down!? ?Sit down!?, ?Stop!? and ?Get out of there!?. This yelling was heard from the School Age classroom.
Plan of Correction: Management has added a written and signed notice to the employees file explaining why this type of communication is not acceptable.
Management has assigned additional training for staff member to help them better manage challenging behaviors and stressful situation.
Management has moved the above teacher into another classroom with less challenging behavior and younger age group.
