Inspector Notes

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced subsidy inspection on 12/14/2021 from 11:20am to 2:17pm. There were 73 children present, ranging in ages from infants to 4 years, with 11 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing, supervision, programming, medication, special care, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 7 children?s records and 4 staff records were reviewed.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the subsidy supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on record review, the center did not ensure one of four staff records contained documentation of current certification in CPR within 90 days of the date of employment.
Evidence:
1. The record of staff #2 (start date: 7/13/2021) did not have documentation of current certification in CPR.
2. The record of staff #3 (start date: 10/19/2021) had documentation of certification in CPR dated 2/15/2021.
Plan of Correction: Have found someone available to come to the center to train as soon as hired.
