Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 09/25/24, as a part of the licensure process. The on-site inspection began at 11:00 AM and ended at 2:24 PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 108 children present and 22 staff. The inspector reviewed 6 children?s records and 6 staff records on-site.
This inspection included; document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 10/4/24. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-780-510-E
The center's procedures for administering medication shall allow for long-term prescription drug use with written authorization from the child's physician and parent.

The long term authorization for one medication authorizes a different medication than what is present at the center for Child #1.
Plan of Correction: Parent was notified on 9/30/24 and given the VA Health form to update reflecting the allergy by the physician.

Standard 8VAC20-780-550-P
The center shall maintain a written record of the children's serios and minor injuries in which entries are made the day of occurrence. The record shall include; the date and time when parents were notified and any future action to prevent recurrence.

Plan of Correction: Documentation of injuries will be made on the day of occurrence and any action to prevent recurrence on the same day. Parents will sign occurrence on the day of the incident. Parents will be notified of occurrence before the report is completed to reflect the different times.
