Violations

3
Standard 8VAC20-800-50-A
The family day home shall keep a written record of children in attendance each day.

On the date of the inspection, attendance was not recorded for 3 out of 3 children.
Plan of Correction: Attendance was corrected during the inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-800-540-A
Infant swings shall be used according to the manufacturer's instructions and when occupied by a child, a safety strap shall be used and securely fastened.

The provider stated Child #2, age 11 months, sleeps in an infant swing. The manufacturer's label specifies to never let a child sleep in this product.
Plan of Correction: Child #2 will sleep on a nap mat instead of the swing. I will look into getting a crib for any new infants that may enroll.
Standard 8VAC20-800-90-A
Before a child may attend the family day home, the provider shall obtain documentation that the child has been adequately immunized according to the Code of Virginia requirements.

The provider did not obtain immunization records for Child #1 until four days after the first day of attendance.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure any new children have immunizations by their first day.
