Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 8:30 am - 9:30 am. There were 9 children in care with the provider and one assistant for a total of 25 points. The children were observed participating in free play activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and two staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation of the family day home it was determined that stairs were accessible to children under two years old. Evidence: The gate at the bottom of the stairs was unlocked and open. The provider was caring for children ranging in age from 5 months - 3 years old.
Plan of Correction: The gate was locked during the inspection.
