Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on March 18, 2021 and concluded on March 29, 2021. The assistant head of school was contacted by video conferencing to initiate the inspection at 10:15 a.m. There were 50 children present, ages 21 months through 6 years old and six staff. Children were observed having circle time, playing outside and during transition inside. The inspector emailed the assistant head of school a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed four children?s records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Emergency drills were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on review of documentation, it was determined that the facility did not have documentation of monthly evacuation drills as required. Evidence: There was no drill documented for December 2020, January 2021 or February 2021.
Plan of Correction: Move drills to beginning of the month to account for possible delays.
