Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection conducted on August 15, 2023 between the hours of 9:35am and 11:15am. There were a total of 32 children with 6 staff members supervising. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities,outdoor play time and transitioning from the playground to inside the building. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, attendance, staff records, special care and emergencies. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Based on observation, staff did not wash their hands with soap and running water before and after helping a child use the toilet.
Evidence: Staff #1 in the Two's class, did not wash her hands before and after helping three (3) children use the toilet. The staff used the same set of gloves with two children.
Plan of Correction: Director observed the staff not washing her hands and was corrected immediately. I will retrain on proper handwashing.
