Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on September 13, 2022 from approximately 8:45 am to 10:00 am. There were 4 children in attendance and a total of 2 staff present. 2 staff records and 4 children?s records were reviewed. All areas of the center were observed including classroom, bathrooms, hallway, kitchen, and the playground. The children were observed eating breakfast, listening to music, dancing, participating in circle time, and getting ready to go to the playground while the licensing inspector was on the premises.

The First Aid Kit had all components. The license, current inspection, and evacuation plan were posted and emergency numbers were posted by each phone. The most recent health inspection was on 8/9/22. The most recent fire inspection was on 4/7/22. Fire drills were conducted monthly with the most recent on 8/29/22. Shelter in place drills were conducted twice with the most recent on 3/16/22.

Violations were cited as a result of this inspection.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: There was an open bucket of bleach water on top of the cubby in the classroom.
Plan of Correction: The bleach & water solution is now locked up in a cabinet in a spray bottle that is labeled Bleach & Water
