Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 12:00pm to 2:10pm. There were 125 children, directly supervised by 23 staff. Staff to child ratio was in compliance. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies were inspected. Children were observed eating lunch, participating in an art project and napping. There was an assortment of age-appropriate materials for the children in care. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, where playground equipment was provided, resilient surfacing did not comply with minimum safety standards. Evidence: On the playground there was not adequate surfacing (mulch) under and around the fall zones.

Based on observation, when a child was placed in an infant seat or highchair, the protective belt was not fastened securely. Evidence: In the infant 1 classroom, Child A, under 12 months, was observed in a feeding chair and the straps were not securely fastened.
