22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 9:45 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. with the director. There were 45 children in care ages 3 months through 5 years of age under the care and supervision of 13 staff. School aged children were on a field trip at a splash pad. Infants were observed during outdoor play and older infants were observed having water play. Toddlers were observed during a table activity involving stacking cups. Two year olds were observed during outdoor play which included the playground and bubbles. The Montessori class was observed at a variety of center activities including puzzles, sensory table, blocks. Three, four and five year old classes were observed during center activities including blocks and sensory table play. Classrooms, supplies and materials were observed. The outdoor play areas, playground and pool were observed. The bus used for transportation was observed.

Eight staff records and eight children's records were reviewed. Emergency drills were up to date.
Three medications and authorizations and an administration log were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of documentation, the center did not have a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy from a physician regarding the food which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the even of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: Child #2, enrolled 3/27/2022, has a diagnosed food allergy to Egg and did not have an allergy care plan on file.
