A self-reported other inspection was conducted on 6/21/23 related to an incident that occurred the afternoon of 6/20/23 regarding ratio and supervision. Based on the information there is a violation resulting from this incident.

Based on discussions with administration the center failed to ensure that ratios were met with staff who were directly supervising children.
Evidence:
The center self-reported an incident that occurred on the afternoon of 6/20/23.
The infant room teacher had a bathroom emergency, asking the toddler teacher to quickly supervise both rooms, as she went into the bathroom located in the classroom. The toddler teacher stood in the doorway that is between both rooms, so she could see into both rooms. In doing so the ratio was not met in either room for approximately 2-3 minutes.
Only staff who are directly supervising children may be counted in ratio for each grouping of children.

Plan of Correction: Once the administration of the center was notified of this incident, the staff was spoken to an reminded that there is always someone extra available to cover and that she needs to use the call communication to request assistance.
All staff were also reminded of this and that ratio is to always be met, and children supervised at all times.
