Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was completed on April 10, 2024 from approximately 9:45 am to 11:20 am. There was one child present with one caregiver supervising. A monitoring inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in voluntary registration requirements were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Three child records and one caregiver record were reviewed. Violations found are noted on the violation notice.

Repeat Violation
Based on interview, provider did not ensure there is a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child as it occurs.

Evidence: Provider stated she did not have documentation of child in attendance during inspection.
Plan of Correction: Provider will start documenting attendance as child enters and leaves in a notebook.

Based on review and interview, provider did not ensure current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes an in-person competency demonstration.

Evidence: Provider has current CPR certification expiring 6/0/2025. Provider stated the course was completed online and did not have an in-person competency demonstration.
Plan of Correction: Provider will schedule to have in-person CPR training completed.

Based on review, provider did not ensure she attends at least 16 hours of training annually.

Evidence: Provider had documentation of completing 12 hours of training in 2023.
Plan of Correction: Provider will make sure at least 16 hours of training is completed in 2024. Training hours have already been completed for this year.

Based on observation and interview, provider did not ensure the diapering surface is nonabsorbent.

Evidence: Provider demonstrated that she changes children's diapers by placing them on disposable liners and a cloth sheet on the foot of a bed. The surface is absorbent.
Plan of Correction: Provider stated she will use a disposable chuck pad on a nonabsorbent diapering pad.
