Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/19/2024 and completed on 8/19/2024. The on-site inspection began at 9:15 am and ended at 10:15 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 24 children present and eight staff. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and three staff records electronically on 8/19/2024 and 8/20/2024. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure a nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing be used.

Evidence:
The diapering pad in the infant room had tears revealing a nonabsorbent surface.
Plan of Correction: The center will replace the old diapering pad with a diapering pad without tears.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-D
Based on record review, the center failed to implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.

Evidence:
The center did not have documentation that an evacuation drill was completed in June, 2024.
Plan of Correction: The center will conduct a monthly evacuation drill.
