Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:00 am-10:00 am. There were 6 children directly supervised by 2 caregivers. The home, staff records, child records, household member records, eveacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site. Children were observed playing freely. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was a supply of books, toys and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observation areas of the family day home were not maintained in a safe condition.

Evidence: There was a small hole on the wall next to the dining table in the kitchen area that is within reach of children in care.
Plan of Correction: I will cover the hole.
Standard 8VAC20-800-900-B
Based upon observation children were allowed to walk around while eating.

Evidence: There was a child observed walking around with a green snack cup filled with cheerios in the play area during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: He brought the cup from home. I will make sure the children sit to eat.
