Inspector Notes

A mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on April 19, 2024 from approximately 9:20am-10:20am. There were 9 children in care with 27 staff supervising. Children were observed playing freely and reading books with the provider. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on record review, the provider did not ensure all required information was in the child's record.

Evidence: Child 1 is missing the address of a second emergency contact.
Plan of Correction: Only house # was missing rest was all there even the phone #. Already done.
Standard 8VAC20-800-680-A
Based on observation, a caregiver did not wash their hands with liquid soap and warm running water after a diaper change.

Evidence: Staff 2 changed two children's diapers but did not wash their hands in between the diaper changes.
Plan of Correction: Washing hands after every diaper change.
Standard 8VAC20-800-680-B
Based on observation, children did not wash their hands with soap and water.

Evidence: After diapering, children did not wash their hands with soap and warm running water.
Plan of Correction: After diaper change hands are washed.
Standard 8VAC20-800-690-D
Based on observation, the diaper changing stations were not cleaned and sanitized after each use and was nonabsorbent.

Evidence: The diaper changing pad used by the staff member after was not cleaned and sanitized after changing a child's diaper. The second diaper changing pad available for use had a cloth cover on it.
Plan of Correction: Already removed the pad cover and pad will be cleaned after every diaper change.
