Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring visit and facility tour was conducted on 2/7/23. At the time of inspectors' arrival there were 11 preschool aged children in care with 2 staff members. Children were observed interacting with staff and engaging in outdoor play. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Director reported that there have been no injuries and medications are not being administered at this time. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the violation notice and were discussed with the director in an exit meeting at the conclusion of this inspection.

Based on record review and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that all staff submit to fingerprinting prior to hire.
Evidence:

Based on observation and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that each staff member submitted documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening.

Based on observation and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, was maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. The door to the kitchen was open and there was a hot pot with boiling peas on the countertop. There were also sharp knives in an unlocked drawer. The kitchen adjoins the Pre-K room were children were observed in care.
2. Staff confirmed that the door to the kitchen was open and unlocked and there was no staff person in the kitchen.
