Inspector Notes

An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 6 children were present (12pts) with the Provider. The children were sitting at tables playing with playdoh and cookie cutters making sea animal shapes out of the playdoh. Interactive music was playing in the background that allowed the children to sing the alphabet. They transitioned smoothly to the bathroom where they washed hands and prepared for lunch. One child was preparing to leave for a half day school session. Observation of the program space, outdoor play area, bathroom and second program space was made. All children nap on mats/cots and cribs and diapering area are not in use at this time. No medication or food allergy needs at this time. Before lunch, some of the children took turns naming the letters of the alphabet and also counting out loud. The letters "L and K" were the them for the day. An art project where the children painted koalas and lions to correlate with today's letters was observed hung up and drying. A total of all 6 children's files were reviewed, provider and household member background checks remain current and there has been no change to staff or household members. This inspection occurred between 10:15am and 11:30am. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
