8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on 02/06/2024. There were 12 children present with 2 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review, the vendor did not ensure that all caregivers have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1) The CPR certification in the record for Caregiver #2 was dated 09/29/2021. (exp 09/29/2023)
Plan of Correction: Staff #2 will renew her CPR certificate on 02/24/2024.

Based on documentation review, the vendor did not ensure to practice lockdown procedures at least annually.
Evidence:
1) 1) On the date of inspection, the 2023 emergency drills log provided for review, did not have a lockdown drill documented for the month of December 2023.
