Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contact, documentation review, and interview.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 1/6/22 and concluded on 1/10/22. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 44 children present, ranging in age from nine-months to ten-years-old, with seven staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies, and nutrition. A total of three child records and three staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-510-P
Based on review of medication and medication authorization, the center did not ensure that medications were picked up within 14 days of authorization expiring, or that the parent renewed the authorization. Evidence: There were two emergency medications onsite for Child A. The medication authorization forms for both medications expired 11/4/21.
Plan of Correction: The child has an appointment scheduled for March 14th 2022. New paperwork will be filled out by the doctor on that date, until then the parent will continue to fill out a 10 day form as advised by the inspector.
