8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 08/22/2023 from 10:20am to 12:05pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 5 children ages 14 months to age 3 years old (14 points) with the Provider. The programming area, attendance, outdoor playground area, menus, Provider, Assistant and Household member records, 5 children?s records, emergency drills, emergency supplies, and policies were reviewed. Children were observed participating in free play. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid training.

A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
