Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted August 8, 2023 between 9:30am and 10:45am. There were 10 children present with one (2) caregivers supervising within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing with manipulatives, coloring, eating snack, and playing with other age-appropriate toys and materials. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programing, evacuation drill logs, menu, first aid supplies, attendance, children and caregiver records, and emergency procedures. There was no medication on sight. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the programs. Based on observation, caregiver did not ensure that children's hands are washed with liquid soap and warm running water before eating.
Evidence: Caregiver #2 did not ensure children's hands were washed before providing the morning snack and drink.
Plan of Correction: I usually take the children to wash their hands while she sets up the snack. I will ensure we have the children wash their hands before eating.
