Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am- 10:20 am. There were 54 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 17 staff. The physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, circle time, and welcoming a new friend. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an ample supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, staff did wash hands with soap and running water after contact with body fluids.

Evidence: Staff in the Preschool A classroom did not wash hands after helping a child blow their nose.
Plan of Correction: We will remind staff to complete.

Based on record review, the center did not maintain complete written record of children's minor injuries.

Evidence:
1 of 8 accident incident reports did not have date/ time where parents were notified documented as required.
Plan of Correction: Staff was reminded during the inspection to wash hands even if wearing gloves.
