Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was completed from 1:25am until. 12:45. There were 12 children and two providers present for a total of 29 points. Four children's records, two provider records, and three household records were reviewed. Children were observed watching a video, playing, napping, washing hands, eating lunch, and getting ready for rest time.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation (s) were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and interview, the provider did not compete the required 16 hrs of annual training.
Evidence:
1. Provider #1 had not completed the 16 hrs. of training and they verified this.
Plan of Correction: The provider will get the required training.
Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observation, furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, failed to be maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. One of two large brown wooden cribs had peeling paint on the top railings.
Plan of Correction: The provider will place a covering over the rails that have peeling paint.
