Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/2/22. The provider had 8 children in care with 3 caregivers, a total of 31 points. At the time of the inspection the children were napping. The provider has a large space for childcare, she cares for infants and young toddlers and her space reflect that. Lots of space for infant exploration. A violation notice was given to the provider along with this summary.

The provider failed to get the criminal records check for a staff before employment.
Evidence: Based on review of the new assistants records, the provider failed to get the criminal records check for the assistant before employment started.
Plan of Correction: I will get it for her.
Standard 8VAC20-800-120-A
Based on the providers records, the provider failed to get some of the required paperwork for a new assistant.
Evidence: Staff 2 hire date 4/26/22 is missing the following information to make her paperwork complete:
First day orientation in writing and one reference.
Plan of Correction: I did do the orientation verbally, but I will make sure I do the paperwork. I will also get another reference for her.
Standard 8VAC20-800-130
The provider failed to hire an assistant that speaks, reads and writes English.
Evidence: Based on discussion with the provider and the assistant, the assistant can not speak, read or write English at this time.
Plan of Correction: I had a very hard time finding an assistant, she is currently taking classes three times a week and I will start practicing with her as well.
