Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on September 20, 2022. The inspector arrived at 9:30 AM and departed at approximately 11:30am. There were 11 children present and three staff members. A sample size of nine records were reviewed which included five children?s records and four staff records. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were reviewed with the site owner at the exit interview.

8VAC20-790-600. Based on record review and interview, it was determined that the center did not ensure that staff have a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1. Staff #2, (date of hire: 04/30/2018) did not have a current CPR certification.
2. Staff #1 confirmed Staff #2 did not have a current CPR certification.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Staff #2 will obtain their CPR certification. Once completed, Staff #2 will provide a copy for the center?s training record.
