Inspector Notes
An unannounced inspection was completed on 09/24/2024 in response to a complaint relating to allegations of staffing and supervision. This inspection included interviews and observations.
The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 10/02/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.
Violations
3On 09/24/2024, licensing inspector entered the 4-year-old classroom and observed no staff in the classroom and there were three children present. S2 almost immediately entered the classroom behind the licensing inspector. Staff acknowledged she had stepped out of the classroom to answer the front doorbell.
Licensing inspector entered Classroom #4 at approximately 7:57 a.m. on 09/24/2024 and observed 15 children in the classroom with no staff person present. S1 entered the classroom almost immediately behind licensing inspector and then S2 entered the classroom. S1 reported the children were between the ages of ?almost two and 11 years old?. S1 acknowledged that the room was out of the 1 staff to 5 children ratio, and it has occurred on other occasions. S3 was interviewed and acknowledged difficulties with morning staffing and maintaining ratios.
Licensing inspector observed a child (under the age of 2) in Classroom #4 seated in a highchair while the other children were observed moving around the classroom and seated at tables. S1 reported the child is the youngest in the room and gets into trouble with peers.
