Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider and one assistant caregiver were caring for 7 children, totaling 16 points. The children were observed playing with tabletop toys, eating lunch, and preparing for afternoon nap. The children were served cheese pizza, pears, green beans, and milk for lunch today.
The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administrative record keeping, physical plant, emergency preparedness, nutrition, and backgroud checks.

Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on a review of caregiver records, it was determined the provider did not obtain for each caregiver a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence:
The Tuberculosis Screening for the caregiver A expired on 2/5/2022; the Tuberculosis Screening for caregiver B expired on 1/17/2022.
Plan of Correction: Both will get repeat TB Health Screenings done.
Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observations, it was determined that one furnishing of the family day home has not been maintained in operable .
Evidence:
The diaper changing pad has torn in one corner.
Plan of Correction: I have already ordered a new diaper changing station, including a new pad. It is scheduled to be here within the next 2 weeks. It will be installed as soon as it is delivered
Standard 8VAC20-800-70-A
Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that before each child's first day of attendance, all parents were not provided in writing all required information.
Evidence:
The record for child B does not include a signed "Provisions of the Emergency Plan" document.
Plan of Correction: I will ask the parent to sign the form when the child returns next week.
