22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

Inspector Notes

An monitoring inspection was conducted virtually with the director. Nineteen children were present with 5 staff providing supervision. The ages of the children ranged from 16 months to 6 years. Medication for one child was reviewed as well as three staff and two children's files. The areas of the standards reviewed included administration, staff qualifications and training, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programs, special care provisions and emergencies and special services.
The violation issued is outlined on the violation notice.

Based on interview and a review of staff files, it was determined that Staff A was hired on 6/1/21 and did not have a Sex Offender Name Search background check for North Caroline on their first day of employment.
Plan of Correction: We obtained the search on 2/9/22 and sent a copy to Licensing. We will remember to do the search prior to their first day of employment.
