Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-770-60-C-2
Based on record review, the center failed to obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry for any founded complaints of child abuse or neglect within 30 days of employment.

Evidence: Staff #2, which was hired on 07/19/2021 had no documentation of the required Central Registry check on file during the inspection on 11/4/2022.
Plan of Correction: Sent email to ask for copy on 11/7/2022 received no response. Resent background check on 11/10/2022
Standard 8VAC20-780-350-B-2
Based on observation, the center failed to maintain the required staff-to-children ratio for children 16 months up to 24 months.

Evidence: Classroom #1 had 6 children in care ranging from ages 18 months to 24 months under the supervision of one staff person. The ratio for this age is 1 staff to every 5 children. Two staff would be required.
Plan of Correction: Actively hiring and working on staffing.
