Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/06/23 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with the provider. There were three children in care, ranging in age from two to 10-years-old, for a total of four points. Children were observed playing with puzzles. Four child records and three staff records were reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. No medications were on site and the provider has current Medication Administration Training (MAT). The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed.Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on observation, the Provider did not ensure that areas and furnishing of the family day home, inside and outside were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence: A long wire was laying on the top stair of the stairway that leads from the backyard to the entrance of the daycare area, causing a potential trip hazard.

Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances such as disinfectants, were not stored in areas inaccessible to children.

Evidence: There was a container of disinfectant wipes and an air freshener spray located in a bottom cabinet, accessible to children.
