Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 11:30 am through 12:30pm. There were a total of seven children (11 points) observed with one caregiver. A total of six children's files and four staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: morning snack, singing, watching a program on the computer screen, hand washing, and eating lunch. Based on observation, caregivers did not ensure that children's hands are washed with liquid soap and warm running water.
Evidence:
1. Five children in care transitioned from a group activity to lunch without washing their hands with liquid soap and warm running water.
Plan of Correction: All of the children followed up and washed their hands at the time of the inspection. The provider will ensure that all children wash their hands before eating.
