Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/30/2023.
The provider and assistant had 8 children in care totaling 19 points. The children and caregivers were observed playing outside and later coming in to eat lunch. Lunch was bean and rice and apples. Lots of interaction between staff and children observed. The provider has a large area she uses for childcare with lots of different interest areas set up. A violation notice was given to the provider with the visit summary. Based on the review of the physical plant, the provider has a walker on the playground.
Evidence: A walker is on the playground, not in use during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: We will get rid of the walker, it was donated by an old parent and we will not use it.
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-C
Based on the review of emergency drill records, the provider does not have written documentation of drills conducted.
Evidence: The sheet with this years emergency drill could not be located during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: We conduct monthly drills and we have the records, we will find the paperwork and if it can not be located we will start a new log.
