Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 3:00 - 3:45 pm with staff. There were 27 children, ranging from 5 years to 11 years of age, present with 2 staff supervising. Children were observed having free play and completing homework. Two children's records and two staff records were reviewed. Two medications along with authorization forms were reviewed and in compliance and staff have current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT), first aid and CPR. The emergency drill log, first aid kit, and the battery operated radio and flashlight were reviewed and in compliance. Based on review of two staff records, it was determined that the facility did not have a repeat central registry report for all staff every five years as required. Evidence: The record for staff #2 had a central registry search report dated: 1/31/2017.
Plan of Correction: Staff stated they will submit a request for an updated Central Registry search.
Standard 8VAC20-780-560-F
Based on documentation review and an interview with staff, a menu listing foods to be served for snacks was not dated for the current week. Evidence: the menu listed dates that were repeated from a previous month and the day/date did not line up with the current day/date or with what was actually being served.
Plan of Correction: The menu was updated to reflect the actual dates for the week.
