Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on August 22, 2024 in response to a self-report received by the licensing office on August 7, 2024 relating to care and protection. The inspector was on-site from 10:00 am until 10:53 am. The inspector reviewed 1 child record and 1 staff record on-site. This inspection included interviews with staff and document review.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Though not a part of the original self-report, violations that were not reported were found related to (area or part of standard) and are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 9/24/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.
Violations
1Evidence:
On August 7, 2024, at approximately 11:30AM, Staff #1 warmed a bowl of chocolate in the microwave. Child #1 was crawling around on the floor near staff #1. Staff #1 removed the bowl of chocolate from the microwave and didn?t realize that the chocolate over heated and begun melting the bowl. As staff #1 removed the bowl from the microwave, the chocolate spilled on child #1?s upper right arm, hand, and thigh. Staff #1 immediately informed the director who removed child #1 from the class and took the child to the get-well clinic where the child was treated before the ambulance arrived. The child sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to the upper right arm, hand and thigh area near the knee.
