Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 9/18/2023. There were 4 children present with the provider. The point total was 9. The children were observed eating breakfast and engaged playing with various toys. A total of 4 child records, 1 staff record and 1 family member record were reviewed. The inspection started at 9:25 am and concluded at 10:30 am.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and staff interview the licensee did not ensure to obtain background checks every five years.
Evidence: Staff confirmed that the most recent criminal history check for staff #1 was dated 8/28/2018.
Plan of Correction: Background check renewal will be completed.
Standard 8VAC20-800-350-E
Based on observation the licensee did not ensure the hot water at taps available to children shall be maintained within a range of 105?F to 120?F.
Evidence: The licensing inspector using a temperature gauge confirmed that the hot water registered 123?F at the sink in the bathroom where the children wash their hands.
Plan of Correction: Husband will adjust water temperature.
