Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in person at the family day home. There were 3 children present with 1 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 1 caregiver records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure children's hands are washed with liquid soap and warm running water before eating.

Evidence: During the inspection on February 8, 2023, there was observations of the children returning into the family day home and preparing for lunch at the table and their hands were not washed prior to eating.
Plan of Correction: The caregiver will ensure all children in care wash their hands.

Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure to follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of USDA when providing meals at family day home.

Evidence: During the inspection on February 8, 2023, there was observation of 2 of 3 children in care being served french fries and a drink as a meal for lunch at the family day home.
Plan of Correction: The caregiver will appeal violation based on situation.
