Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was completed on January 25, 2024 at 9:49 am until 11:06 am in person at the family day home. There were 2 children present, 2 points with 1 caregiver supervising. There were observations of the parent drop off, children reading books, eating snack, and interacting with staff. The outdoor area is current not in use and the caregiver and children in care take walks for outdoor activity. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical equipment and environment, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 1 caregiver records were reviewed.

Based on documentation and interview, the provider did not ensure to practice emergency evacuation procedures monthly.

Evidence: The documentation reviewed partial completion of the monthly drills. Interview with caregiver confirmed the practiced drills were not completed each month.
Plan of Correction: The provider will practice and record all monthly and annual drills as required.

Based on interview, the provider did not ensure when meals or snacks are provided by the family day home, the menu for the current one-week period is available.

Evidence: Interview with provider confirmed a menu at the family day home was not available for review during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The provider will complete menu for current week for review.
