Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 6/8/23. The provider had 12 children in care with two assistants present. A total of 36 points.
During the inspection the children had just started nap time and was trying to fall asleep.
Lunch was Chicken noodle soup, broccoli and carrots. Interaction between caregivers and children were observed. Reviewed the physical plant upstairs as well as the child care area. Lots of space and lots of supplies for the children both inside and out. Gave the provider paperwork and went over resources that can be found on the departments website. A violation notice was given to the provider with the inspection summary.

Based on the review of the providers staff paperwork, the provider failed to get some of the required information to make the record complete.
Evidence: Based on the review of three staff files, one staff, staff 2 is missing a second reference.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure I get a second reference for my staff.
Standard 8VAC20-800-200-A
Based on the review of three staff records, the provider failed to orient the caregivers within the first week of employment.
Evidence: Staff 2 and Staff 3 are missing the orientation and both have been employed for more than a week.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure I go over the orientation with both my staff. I will use the orientation model form you provided.
