Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on July 18, 2022 and concluded on July 18, 2022. On July 18, 2022, the licensing inspector was onsite from approximately (time to time1:00 pm until 3:10 pm. The director assisted with the inspection. There were 62 children present, ranging in ages from two years to twelve years, with ten staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and four staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation and interview, the center did not ensure that areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence:
During the inspection on 07/18/22, the following was observed -
1) In the three year old classroom, there is an area approximately three inches by three inches where the drywall has chipped off the wall exposing a nail head. The hole in the drywall is at the baseboard and accessible to children.
2) In the three year old classroom, the rubber baseboard trim has cracked and broken off in an area approximately two feet long creating a jagged edge.

Unsafe conditions shall include, but not be limited to, splintered, cracked or otherwise deteriorating wood; chipped or peeling paint; visible cracks, bending or warping, rusting or breakage of any equipment; head entrapment hazards; and protruding nails, bolts or other components that could entangle clothing or snag skin.
Plan of Correction: per the Director: We have scheduled the repairs and to have the room painted.
