Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today.
There were 12 children present (34 points) with two caregivers at LI arrival.
3 caregiver and 3 child records were reviewed. See Violation Notice for non-compliances cited,
Emergency drills, emergency supplies, first aid supplies, cot spacing fridge/freezer temperatures were all in compliance.

LI was present today from 12:10PM- 1:10PM.

Standard 8VAC20-800-570-A
Based on a review of documentation, the provider did not ensure that a caregiver did not exceed 16 points when determining the need for an additional caregiver.
Evidence:
At LI arrival there were 12 children present totaling 34 points with only 2 caregivers.
Plan of Correction: A third caregiver arrived within 15 minutes. I am in the process of hiring an additional assistant.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-A
Based on a review of records, one child record was not kept up to date.
Evidence:
Child #1's record was dated 4/15/23. (expired)
Plan of Correction: I will have the record updated by the parent,
Standard 8VAC20-800-960-C
Based on observation, children in high chairs did not have the safety waist and crotch straps fastened.
Evidence:
6 children seated in high chairs did not have the safety strap for the high chair fastened,
Plan of Correction: Staff was immediately reminded to fasten the safety straps.
