Inspector Notes

A unannounced mandates monitoring inspection was initiated on February 16, 2024 from 8:15am- 10:47 am. There were 36 children with 5 staff present. The children were preparing to leave for school, eating morning snack, tummy time in infant room,and twos participting in table activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, staff qualifications and training, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 9 children records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed sleeping. Outside area was not inspected.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure ratio for 2 year olds were 1 staff to 8 children.

Evidence:
On February 16, 2024 at approximatley 8:15 am there was approximatley 29 children and the youngest was two years of age with 2 staff on school age area of the classroom.

The ratio for 2 years should be 1 staff for 8 children.

Staff confirmed that they were not in ratio.

Based on the staff interview and observations, the licensee did not ensure there shall be a posted daily scheduled that allows for fflexibility as children's needs require.
