Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contact, documentation review, interview, and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/26/21 and concluded on 10/28/21. The assistant director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 51 children present, ranging in age from six-months to five-years-old, with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies, and nutrition. A total of two child records and three staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

If you have questions regarding this inspection you may contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.

Violations

1
Standard 22VAC40-185-80-A
Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, the center did not maintain an accurate record of children in attendance. Evidence: During the virtual inspection there were three children present in the infant classroom, but only two children were documented on the attendance record; in the two-year-old classroom there were ten children present but 12 were documented on the attendance record.
Plan of Correction: We will remind all of the teachers that the attendance record should always be updated as children arrive and leave.
