Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documentation review, interview and a virtual tour of the home.

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was initiated on 08/06/2021 and concluded on 08/10/2021. There were 0 children present with 1 caregiver supervising. A monitoring inspection was also conducted on this date.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review, the provider did not ensure annually attend at least 16 hours of training, to include the department's health and safety update course.
Evidence:
The record of caregiver/household member #1 did not have documentation of 16 hours of annual training and documentation showing that the provider has completed the department's update health and safety course.
Plan of Correction: I will get them done.
Standard 22VAC40-665-240-D
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure sharp kitchen utensils and other sharp objects shall be inaccessible to children unless being used by the caregiver or with children under close supervision.
Evidence:
The provider's sharp kitchen utensils were not inaccessible to children. The utensils were kept in an unlocked drawer within a child's reach.
Plan of Correction: I will put them on top of my refrigerator.
