Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on May 5, 2021 and concluded on May 6, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were nine children present and two caregivers. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on review of caregiver records, the provider did not ensure caregivers completed the Annual Virginia Health and Safety Updated training for child care staff required annually of subsidy vendors their staff.

Evidence:

1. The most recent completion of the Health and Safety annual training for caregiver #1 was dated 11/04/2019.Caregiver #1 did not have documentation of completing the annual training for the 2020 year. The training was due for caregiver #1 by 11/03/2020.
