Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:30 am to 12:20 pm. At the time of entrance, 5 children totaling were in care with the provider. The record sample size consisted of 5 children's records and the provider's record and the household member's record. The children in care were observed engaging with the provider and participating in free play. There have been no injuries since the last inspection and no medications are being administered at this time. Areas of noncompliance are noted in the violation narrative and were discussed with the provider during the exit meeting at the conclusion of the inspection.

Standard 8VAC20-800-350-E
Based on measurement and interview it was determined that the hot water taps available to children were not maintained within a range of 105?F to 120?F.
Evidence:
1. The hot water was measured at 140.1 degrees Fahrenheit during this inspection.
2. Provider confirmed the water is above than the required temperature range.
Plan of Correction: Provider will turn the hot water temperature down to 120 degrees or below.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on record review and interview it was determined the provider did not ensure that the children's records contained all of the required documentation.
Evidence:
1. The records for child #1, 2 and 3 did not contain the required two emergency contacts.
2. The record for child #5 did not contain documentation of an annual review.
3. Provider confirmed that this documentation was not available during this inspection.
Plan of Correction: Provider will request this information from parents.
