Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 2:45 - 3:15 pm with staff. There were 25 children, ranging from 5 years to 11 years of age, present with 2 staff supervising. Children were observed arriving from school, having free play and completing homework. Two children's records and two staff records were reviewed. Staff stated there was no medication on site, however staff does have current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT), first aid and CPR. The emergency drill log, attendance, written allergy list, first aid kit, fire and health inspections were reviewed and in compliance. Based on review of two children's records, it was determined that not all records contained all required information. Evidence: the record for child #1, with a diagnosed food allergy, did not contain a written care plan, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
Plan of Correction: Staff stated they will contact the parent to either obtain an updated physical stating that the child doesn't have a food allergy or obtain the allergy care plan.
