Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/25/2023 from 10:10AM to 11:40am. There were 23 preschoolers directly supervised by 5 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 3 children?s records, no children's medications and medication authorization records, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, listening to stories, playing outside, and eating snack. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was a sufficient supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in CPR and First Aid. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that all areas of the premises accessible to children are free from obvious injury hazards.
Evidence: observed the following:
1) 6 uncovered outlets in room "E" (1 in the wall and 5 on a powerstrip).
2) 1 uncovered outlet in room "D"
3) observed a lighter accessible to children on a low shelf in room "E"
