Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on June 17, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 52 children, ages 9 months through 7, in the care of 10 staff.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 children and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on observation peeling paint was found on the outside step area on the play structure.

Evidence:
1. Observation revealed the side of the steps,on the outside play structure, had a strip of paint that was peeling.
2. Administration confirmed the area was peeling.
Plan of Correction: On 6/18 the Executive Director contacted the center's Board Member who assists with the centers maintenance and repairs. The Board Member will visit the center the week of June 24th to assess the issue and determine the course of action.
